Apple TV+ series are a hit and break a new record at the Emmy Awards
Some of the platform's gems are often praised by critics and viewers.
The Emmy Awards are a prestigious annual ceremony that recognizes excellence in the television industry and honors the best television series, actors, technicians, and creators. This year, Apple TV+ has done just that, breaking its nomination record for the event, which will be held on September 14 in Los Angeles.
Severance and The Studio in the spotlight
In detail, the streaming platform's productions garnered 81 nominations across 14 different productions at the 77th Emmy Awards. Severance is notably the most nominated series this year with 27 awards, just ahead of The Studio (23). These particularly impressive figures put a smile on the faces of Apple's executives.
Zack Van Amburg, Apple's head of worldwide video, points out:
Everyone at Apple is celebrating the talent, creativity, and hard work of all our Emmy nominees this morning. Severance and The Studio exceeded our wildest expectations by earning the most nominations for both drama and comedy series, alongside the phenomenal Shrinking and Slow Horses. These series have profoundly resonated with audiences around the world, and we are incredibly grateful to the Television Academy for recognizing the breadth of their storytelling—an honor for us to champion them. We extend our warmest congratulations to all of today's nominees.
